CAROLE YVONNE SOARE earned her B.A. in teaching, majoring in art and psychology at Sam Houston State University in 1982. More recently she has earned graduate hours at Sam Houston studying aquamedia under Texas State Artist Harry Ahysen,and participated in a workshop in Dream Painting in Houston. In January, 1999, she was certified as a Master Instructor in the Michael Wilcox School of Color, and is available to conduct workshops in this revolutionary approach to color mixing for artists. She has also participated in numerous other workshops with well-known artists. She has taught a variety of art classes in all media for both children and adults. She has traveled extensively and studied art in Germany, the Virgin Islands, California, and Houston. Her work has been seen in numerous exhibitions, and is a frequent winner of awards in many juried shows. Her works are in both private and corporate collections. She is a founding member and current pressident of the Cooperative of Working Artists of Huntsville, Texas. In 1999 she organized an interactive festival of children's art, "Kid's Art on the Square," with funding from the Huntsville Arts Commission. She is on the Board of Directors of the Walker County Citizens for Recyling, and is working to establish a new gallery space for working artists. |
